ABOUT CAMP
JCC Camp Kingswood is a dynamic Jewish overnight/sleepaway camp that has provided life changing summer experiences for almost 100 years. Located on Woods Pond in southern Maine, boys and girls entering grades 3-11 enjoy unforgettable, fun summer experiences filled with sports, outdoor adventure, water sports, visual arts, performing arts and special events and programs.
Campers develop independence, gain self-confidence, build individual skills and learn to work as teams, all while nurturing lifelong friendships and strengthening their Jewish identities.
Like so many others, our Jewish identities and those of our families have been shaped by experiences at our JCC. We are honored to join with honorary chair, Paula Sidman, as co-chairs of Our Campaign to Re-imagine the JCC. Together, we hope to inspire thoughtful conversation around how the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston can engage more people in meaningful Jewish life.
By welcoming people with open arms and without judgment, today’s JCC helps people connect with Jewish life on their own terms. However, the JCC is prevented from realizing its full potential for our community because of decades-old facilities.
Now is the time to unlock that potential! We invite you to re-imagine the JCC as a contemporary space with modern amenities and enough room to support enhanced programs and services, attract more participants and accommodate all who want to be part of our dynamic community. The re-imagined JCC will be a true 21st Century social and cultural hub for Greater Boston.

JCC Camp Kingswood is a dynamic Jewish community located in the lake region of Maine at the base of the White Mountains and is one of the most diverse Jewish communities in camping. Campers and staff join us from not only a wide range of religious affiliations, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds, but also from many countries including Australia, Canada, England, France, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Uruguay, and the United States. Everyone comes to camp seeking an amazing summer adventure and a strong sense of Jewish identity.
Kingswood is a welcoming community built on communal responsibility, equality, inclusiveness and respect, with connections to Israel, Jewish rituals, and a love of nature. These values are demonstrated through ruach (spirit) by our entire Kingswood family and positively reinforced through a variety of awards and traditions. The program is elective based with choices in athletics, water sports, outdoor/adventure and the cultural and creative arts. Campers design their own day and have the opportunity to learn new skills and continue to grow in already established interests.
Each day ends with a creative evening program that is either tailored to the unit or run for the entire camp. All-camp programs include Color War, Maccabiah, Israel Day and many more providing variety and enjoyment for all campers.
All units participate in an outdoor experience; after all, we are in Maine. The older the group, the more advanced the trip. Please review the packing list to ensure your child brings the proper gear. Trips are a great way to broaden your child's experience and provide an increased appreciation for the outdoors. Trips including hikes, canoe/kayaking, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking and rock climbing. All trips are lead by qualified staff and surpass both American Camping Association and Maine Youth Camping accreditation requirements.
