What We Do
Summer Camp
Camp Akita's summer camp is a co-ed, residential camp experience for youth in 1st through 12th grades. As a camper, you will experience crazy fun and excitement, thoughtful times of reflection and conversation, and a loving community that values you unconditionally for who you are right now.
Group Programs
Our group programs are great for schools, companies, sports teams, scout groups, and more. These year-round programs help your group learn, grow, and laugh together through team-building activities, outdoor education, and our exciting high ropes and challenge course. We can house your group overnight and provide meal service for a multi-day experience

Camp Akita is a place of fun and reflection where all who enter are encouraged to strengthen their relationship with God, self, others, and nature. Founded in 1949 by Dr. Roy Burkhart on land donated by the Galbreath family, Camp Akita is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a mission of First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio.
The traditional Summer Camp program at Akita is our most popular program. We invite you to cover yourself in mud, challenge yourself at the Adventure Complex, get to know yourself in moments of reflection at Vesper Hill, share s'mores around the campfire, and find yourself as a valued member of an unconditionally loving community.
