ABOUT CAMP
Shepherd’s Spring Outdoor Ministry and Retreat Center is a beautiful 220-acre retreat setting of rolling, wooded land along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal and the Potomac River, just three miles from Antietam National Battlefield near Sharpsburg, MD and about 1.5 hours from Washington, DC. Its mission is as an outdoor ministry, education, conference, and retreat center, provides opportunities for spiritual renewal and growth, stewardship of God’s creation, and the experience of community, for all ages
Our Outdoor Ministry program sponsors several summer camping opportunities for young and old alike. The programs, as well as our facilities, are designed to promote a stronger relationship with God, others, and the whole of creation. The programs are also designed to help the youth enhance their self-esteem, confidence, and individuality.
Traditional Camps
Our traditional camps blend fun and faith during campfires, games, Bible study and pool time. Exploring scripture in God’s creation opens new connections for campers to God’s everyday presence in our lives. A progression of activities allows campers to return to Shepherd’s Spring each year anticipating new adventures.
Adventure & Specialty Camps
Specialty camps provide campers even more hands on experiences to augment the faith and fun of the traditional camps. Campers may be exposed to living in tents, cooking their own meals over campfires, and other outdoor living skills.
Junior Wild Camp- July 19-24
For children who have completed grades 5-6.
Down on the Farm- July 26-31
For youth who have completed grades 6-8
Outdoor Adventure- August 2-7
For youth who have completed grades 7-11.
