ABOUT CAMP
Hidden Valley Camp is a co-ed sleepaway youth summer camp for children ages 7 to 15 providing a rustic camp experience in a marvelous natural setting. Founded in 1947 and owned and operated by the McKinlay family since 1973, HVC is accredited by the American Camping Association. At Hidden Valley, campers live in small groups of 7 with their counselors. Each camper helps to plan and participates in a wide variety of activities including hiking, horseback riding, swimming, sailing an canoeing, sports and arts and crafts. Our Camper Leader program for teens finished with 10th and 11th grades allows older campers greater freedom and the opportunity to help out in their favorite program areas. Camp accommodates 117 campers and 10 Camper Leaders each session. Hidden Valley campers come from the greater Seattle and Puget Sound area, as well as from Oregon, California, Alaska, other states, British Columbia. We also host many international campers each summer.

With a small group emphasis, HVC provides a unique and supportive environment making it easy for each camper to feel comfortable, make friends and become an integral part of the camp community. At Hidden Valley, campers expand their physical and social skills, self-esteem, independence, ability to live in a group, ability to work and play cooperatively with others, responsibility and relationship building. At HVC, campers bond with their peers and spend time with our staff of positive young role-models. Adventurousness, creativity, confidence, respect for nature, new interests, inquisitiveness, willingness to participate in activities, friendliness, and leadership are all natural outcomes in the friendly surroundings of Hidden Valley Camp.

ACTIVITIES
Sailing and Canoeing
Campers have the opportunity to sail, canoe and swim at our property on Lake Roesiger near the part of main camp.
帆船和划独木舟
每个营员都有机会参与帆船，划独木舟和在我们独有的财产——位于营地附近的罗斯格湖中游泳。
Horseback Riding
All tent groups take riding lessons, go for trail rides and learn skills of horsemanship at the Corral. Campers with a special interest in horses can also participate in Trailriders, an opportunity to come down to the Corral during their free time to help out, groom horses, and learn about horse care. Trailriders and are rewarded for their help with a special trail ride at the end of the session.
骑马课程
以帐篷分组的形式参加骑马课程，在小道骑马并学习控制马技能。营员对马有特殊兴趣的话也可以参与小道骑行者活动,同时营员还有机会在他们的空闲时间到畜栏帮忙,以此打扮马和了解马的护理知识。在课程结束的时候小道骑行者可以根据他们对畜栏的帮助获得一次特殊小道骑行的奖励。
Arts and Crafts
Campers at HVC can participate in a variety of creative activities. Materials for pottery and other clay projects, woodworking, painting, drawing, friendship bracelets, knitting, beading and much more are all available in the Arts and Crafts shop. One of our Arts and Crafts counselors is always around to help with projects. Special art projects include tie-die and candle making.

Drama
The Drama counselor leads tent groups in drama and story-telling games and activities. Campers can also join the play which is performed for the whole camp at the end of the session. Skits at campfires are also a fun and supportive place a for kids to get up and perform for the other campers and staff. The Drama loft has great collection of costumes to bring campers' productions to life.

Swimming
The lifeguards at the heated swimming pool give swimming lessons and supervise free swim sessions. Toys at the pool include a basketball hoop, kick boards, noodles and more.

Purdy
The Purdy Creek runs through camp property and the pond on the Purdy is a great place to swim, boat and fish. The water is chilly but its some campers' favorite place to spend their variety hour!

Nature
Groups can schedule time with the Nature Counselor to learn about the wildlife surrounding HVC, learn wilderness skills, try the initiative course, or explore the woods around camp.

Field and Sports
On our large sports field, campers and staff organize games of football, softball, ultimate frisbee and soccer. Campers also enjoy the basketball hoop, volleyball, badminton and tennis courts, archery range and more.

Hiking and Overnights
The logging roads surrounding camp provide miles of hiking trails and several camp sites for overnights. Tent groups can also schedule off site hiking trips and overnights to surrounding destinations such as the Big Four ice caves, Heather Lake, Mount Pilchuck, and more.

8 O'Clock Program
Evening programs include campfires where campers can put on skits, lead songs or tell stories, game night, tent campfires during which tent groups relax together and roast marshmallows, skit and talent night, bonfire sing-alongs, dances and more.

Special Events and Activities
Weekend events provide a break from the regular schedule and an opportunity for campers to spend time with kids and staff outside of their tent groups. Rodeo Day, Gold rush, Wilderness Day, County Fair Day, and Fun Day are some of campers' favorite special events.

The 8 o’clock Program
There are a variety of programs offered from 8:00 to 9:00pm each evening. These are usually all camp activities such as all camp campfires, game nights, dances, skit/talent nights etc. We have small group campfires a few nights a week as well.
