ABOUT CAMP
Birchwood Camp is a welcoming camp community and a ministry of the United Methodist Church in Alaska. We practice kindness, acceptance, respect, cooperation, outdoor learning & play. Our camps & retreats provide safe spaces for spiritual formation, genuine community, and character development.

We follow health, safety and program standards to ensure that your camper has a positive, safe experience at Birchwood Camp.

Birchwood Camp is nestled quietly between the Chugach Mountains and the Cook Inlet. Our 35 acre Psalm lake is surrounded by 160 acres of pristine Alaskan forest. This serene setting invites guests to let go of the stress and chaos of everyday life and retreat to a special place of peace and tranquility.
Birchwood Camp’s mission is to build community on common ground. We strive to offer hospitality to all, and we open our doors to groups both religious and secular. Guests are invited to retreat to a place of tranquility, a place apart from the everyday world to experience renewal and inspiration.Birchwood Camp provides a variety of summer camps for all ages of children and teens, as well as some year-round programs for teens & adults. Our programs are focused on faith formation, building genuine community, and providing safe spaces for character development in our children and teens.

Our Summer Family Camp is designed for families of all shapes and sizes Summer Family Camp(parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, grown up kids, etc) to spend quality family time together while making great memories at camp! Participants will enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting, fellow-ship with other families, delicious meals & snacks (dinner Friday through Lunch Sunday provided), organized camp activities, and free time with their families.

Youth Camp Teens from across Alaska will enjoy a week of fun, worship and community building with their peers! Campers experience exciting group building activities on our community challenge course, meaningful worship experiences, and learn about servant leadership through participating in projects around camp. We’re adding some special activities this year, such as a sweat at our traditional sweat lodge and outdoor education opportunities, as well as some other surprises. As always, campers can look forward to swimming, boating, campfires, crazy relay Olympics, great games, developing new and lasting friendships and much more. Campers spend the majority of their time in small groups and cabin groups with campers their age (middle school or high school) but share worship, meals and large group activities with the whole group.
青年营的青少年将从一周横穿阿拉斯加州的活动中享受到乐趣和成就感，学会如何与同伴共建团结的团队。营员将能从团队挑战课程中体验到刺激的团队建构活动并获得难忘的成就，同时还能通过参与营地的其他项目学会如何做一个成功的领导者。我们在今年还将增加一些特别的活动，如在传统的林中木屋里出汗和野外教育机会等，同时我们还有更多的惊喜。一如既往的，营员可以体验游泳，划船，营火，奥林匹克转播，有趣的游戏和获得新的友谊等等，还有其他更多的其他体验。营员将会与小组或同年龄段（初中或高中）的小屋组共度大部分的时光，但是会与整个组员一起分享成就感和食物以及参加团体活动。
