Daily activities include: Aquatics; Challenge Sports; Field Games; Creative Arts; and Nature Study. When evening rolls around there is even more fun to be had, like Counselor Hunt, Carnival Night, Spy Hunter, Capture the Flag and Skit and Talent Night.
Camp Cheerio is located on 135 acres high atop the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains - plenty of room to run, play and grow - just an hour away from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. See our map for our location and directions.
With the Blue Ridge Mountains and many other points of interest all within a short distance to camp, our campers can also take advantage of many exciting day excursions. Day trips include canoeing on the New River, going to Carowinds, caving and climbing and other out-of-camp excursions. We want our campers to be busy and enjoying themselves the whole time they are at Cheerio.

Camp Cheerio offers over 25 different activities to excite, educate, and challenge, campers of all ages and skill sets. From camp classics like Horseback Riding, Arts & Crafts, and Canoeing, to the hottest trends like Zip-Lining, Yoga, and Ultimate Frisbee, the only hard part is choosing what to try first!
Because they know better than anyone what they will enjoy, campers at Cheerio get to choose their own activities. Campers will select 8 activities in which to participate during their time at camp. They will attend 4 on Monday and Wednesday and 4 on Tuesday and Thursday. That same rotating schedule is extended to include Fridays and Saturdays during 2-week sessions. A 5th activity period each day is set aside from cabin time, during which cabins will participate in an activity together. The last day of each session includes 2 hours of open activity time during which campers can come and go from their favorite spots as much as they'd like before heading home.
