What sets Camp Marysville apart?
Community – there are no bunk rooms (or even bunk beds) at Camp Marysville. Instead, student cabins (all with en suites) are arranged in small ‘villages’ around a central teacher’s lodge. Community values even extend to the dining room where meals are mostly served to tables ‘family style’.
Sustainability – Camp Marysville as part of the Outdoor Education Group family has a strong commitment to sustainability – in fact it underpins everything we do.
We’re working hard towards a ‘no waste’ system via reducing packaging, composting and minimising food miles and we actively involve students in food preparation, baking and tending the vegetable and fruit gardens. You’ll also find an extensive kitchen garden where we grow herbs, vegetables and indigenous plants to supplement our camp menus.
Our Grow It, Cook it classes also includes education around the key principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
A new approach to activities – Camp Marysville offers a unique range of educational, fun and local community interactive activities, from specially constructed cycle tracks, land care style service projects on local properties, group drumming and team challenges through to our amazing 18m high climbing and abseiling tower. All activities are designed with the aim of encouraging the development of community within your group and hopefully forging new skills along the way.
Size and intimacy – we can cater for groups of up to 270, but we can also configure the camp to cater for smaller groups very comfortably.
Staff – our staff hail from all corners of the globe and bring with them a diverse range of skills and experience. As part of the Outdoor Education Group family they receive industry best training and programs of professional development. They are chosen for their commitment to education and to ensuring our guests have a safe and enjoyable time with us.

Fantastic food – you won’t find ‘camp food’ at Camp Marysville! Our menus recognise cultural diversity and we endeavour to create varied and interesting dishes whilst ensuring our meals are healthy and delicious. Camp Marysville also aims to ensure all special dietary needs are catered for.
Affordability – our rates are designed to make the camp experience affordable to students from all backgrounds.
Wonderful location – Camp Marysville is set just out of the village (to which it is connected by walking and cycling paths) on 20 acres bordered by the Marysville State Forest and rolling farmland. Our natural bush surrounds, acres of lawn and peaceful setting make Camp Marysville a wonderful place to explore or just relax. At only 90 mins from Melbourne CBD you’ll experience much more than spending hours on a bus.
Camp Marysville is the perfect place for your next school camp or retreat – or simply a perfect base from which to explore the many attractions of the Marysville area.
