ABOUT CAMP
Electivie Activity Program
“My daughter had a great time and came home with a renewed self-confidence. Well done, Camp Farwell!”
Campers choose their own activities each week and follow that schedule Monday through Friday. There are five activity periods in a typical day–three in the morning and two in the afternoon. Some activities are grouped by age, some by ability and other groups are mixed to include different ages and abilities.
Upon arrival, campers are evaluated in certain activities such as swimming, riding and tennis. When complete, campers are audience to a show by our counselor staff who explain and demonstrate their activities to our campers. With the exception of swimming lessons for beginning swimmers, there are no required activities.
JFY - Just For You
The first activity of the day is your choice
You choose how you wish to start your day. These are special activities that we offer outside of our regular extensive activity program–from Shine to fishing, knitting, parachute games, berry picking, nature studies and a whole lot more. If you want to do it we will make it happen.
Outstanding Riding Program
Beginner through advanced
Horseback riding, trail rides, ring instruction, horse shows, stable skills, vaulting, horse sense. Some campers elect to spend their entire day at the barn. We call them our barn babies. You can help feed, hay, water and even learn to muck out a stall.
Extensive Waterfront
All of our activities are elective
If you like to get wet, then come on down to the Farwell waterfront. Swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing, knee boarding, wake boarding, tubing, banana boating. Learn new skills in our perfectly-sized lake. Campers are actively supervised by our waterfront staff, who are all certified lifeguards.
Performing Arts & Creative Fun
Become a star or make your masterpiece
Cooking, Arts & crafts, drama, photography/dark room, dance, plays, music, video. Be in one or more of our four productions each summer as we produce two musicals and two dramas. You can be in front of the camera or audience or behind the scenes. You can create your masterpiece whether it’s a delicious edible or frame-able art. Wherever your artistic interest lies, there is a place for you in our creative department.
Landsports
Instruction and games
Tennis, archery, gymnastics, soccer, beach volleyball, basketball and MORE. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle as you work up a sweat and challenge yourself with new skills.

Outstand Riding Program
The Farwell riding program offers the highest level of instruction in our industry. Our classes and activities are crafted for all ability and interest levels.
For many campers, riding is just one of many activities they participate in each day. However, for campers with a keener interest in riding, they have the option to participate in more than one period of riding as well as other activities offered by the Barn. And for those “horse-crazy” campers who are absolutely passionate about riding and horses, they can elect to spend their full day up at the Barn involved in both riding and other horse related activities. Farwell’s Riding Program is structured to meet the interests and needs of all its campers. Whether you want to have your first up-close and personal experiences with horses this summer, just want to take some casual lessons, or you are a barn baby through and through and want to spend your entire day at the barn, you will find everything you are looking for at Farwell.
