YOUTH SPORTS
Youth learn new skills, make new friends, and set individual and team goals. This improves self-confidence, promotes diversity, increases self-esteem, and improves physical condition. The positive time with family and friends in this environment strengthens our communities. In youth sports, there are no tryouts and no one gets cut from the team!
Programs include basketball, Little Champs (introduces preschoolers to a variety of sports), golf, and more.
SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE
Rather than staying home alone before or after school, kids ages 5 to 12 can enjoy safe, fun activities supervised by trained, caring YMCA staff. Children enjoy arts and crafts, sports and games, homework time, special themes and more throughout the school year.
SUMMER CAMP
YMCA day camps offer a variety of programs and extended hours making YMCA summer camp ideal for working parents. YMCA camp staff are carefully selected and go through extensive training. All camps are health department certified and adhere to strict staff to camper ratios.
PRESCHOOL
A variety of specialty programs are available for children ages two through six years old. Each class is geared around a different theme and encourages early literacy, healthy habits, and family. Programs include
TWEENS & TEENS
A variety of programs are available at the Lockport YMCA for youth ages 12 and up. Programs focus on leaderships skills, making new friends, and having fun. Programs include Teen Leaders Club, monthly Teen Nights, lifeguard training, and more.
AQUATICS
The YMCA is the nation’s leading swim instructor, teaching children and adults about swimming and water safety since the early 1900s. We offer a comprehensive,progressive swimming program where each level builds upon the previous, focusing on skill development, technique, water safety, personal safety and fun. Lessons are taught beginning at age six months. Register online.

STING RAYS COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM
Ages 6 - 18
The Lockport Family YMCA competitive swim team is a great opportunity for your child to improve their strokes and be a part of a team. Compete in the Rochester area against other YMCA swim teams from Buffalo, Canandaigua, Geneva, Maplewood, Northwest, and Southeast.
Practice is help on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Swim meets are held on Saturdays from September through March. The program cost is $150 and you must be a YMCA member. There is also a $75 assessment fee to cover the cost of a swim suit, cap, and meet entry fees. For more information, call 716.434.8887.
SUMMER DAY CAMP
YMCA Day Camp programs are offered for the entire summer break and there is something for everyone. Activities at day camp are planned around a common theme and will offer a weekly field trip. Campers will participate daily in games, swimming, physical activities, arts and crafts, nature, and will have plenty of opportunities to make lots of friends. All activities are age appropriate and every kid’s a winner.
A high staff to camper ratio is maintained. Our counselors are carefully selected and attend extensive YMCA training. Lockport YMCA Day Camps are NYS Board of Health Certified.

YMCA CAMP KENAN - RESIDENT CAMP
Summer dreams are fulfilled at YMCA Camp Kenan. Whether you're hiking on a trail, kayaking under the blue sky, making new friends, singing by the campfire, jumping into the refreshing pool, learning how to set up a campsite, or fishing at the lake, each day is full of new adventures.
Summer resident camp programs include:

Summer Day Camp at YMCA Camp Kenan provides the opportunity for children who are not quite ready to attend resident camp to still experience all the awesomeness of summer camp. At YMCA Camp Kenan, day camp fees include a hot lunch, fresh salad bar, and a healthy
snack at the end of the day.
YMCA Camp Kenan day camp meets in the Cowdrick Memorial Pavilion overlooking Lake Ontario and from there get to experience the full range of activities at our 52 acre facility. Day campers get to partake in the weekly themed activities and have the option to sleepover and participate in Thursday’s campout night.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. For an additional fee, parents may drop their children off at camp early between 7:00 - 9:00 am or pick their child up late between 4:30 - 6:00 pm. A bus is available daily, departing from the Lockport Family YMCA at 8:30 am and returning at 5:00 pm.
All day camp staff members participate in extensive training prior to the start of camp and voluntarily submit to thorough background and reference checks before employment.
To register your child for camp, visit our online registration page or apply in person at the Lockport Family YMCA at 19 East Avenue, Lockport. In person registration is mandatory for first time YMCA program members. Spots are limited.
