ABOUT CAMP
DAY CAMP
Summer Day Camp is a vital part of our camping program and gives children an excellent opportunity to enjoy the many aspects of outdoor recreation and to gain lifelong skills. Comprised of children ages 6-12 from the surrounding communities in the Chagrin Valley area and in and around Northeast Ohio, the program runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every session the children can participate in a pre-scheduled overnight stay at camp so they can experience the satisfaction of rustic outdoor living.
Summer Day Camp is for boys and girls, ages 6 (must be entering Kindergarten in the Fall) through 12 years old. An optional overnight stay is offered on the last Thursday of each session. Camp session includes the Farmstead program with baby farm animals and a garden, as well as a variety of exciting hands-on activities such as archery, canoeing, camp crafts, low-ropes course, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, the climbing wall, outdoor skills, performing arts, swimming, wildlife and environmental studies, theme days, campfires and S’mores!

OVERNIGHT CAMP
Summer Overnight Camp has been the core of the Hiram House mission since it began in 1896, opening new horizons and welcoming youth of all backgrounds. It serves hundreds of children each summer. Many of these children are from urban areas in Cuyahoga and surrounding counties in Northeast Ohio, and a majority are eligible to receive some form of financial assistance for families in need through our annual Campership Fund to enable them to attend a life-enriching stay at summer camp. Camp sessions are six-days long. Campers ages 6-9 and female campers ages 10-14 live in log cabins centrally located to all camp facilities, while male campers ages 10-14 live in platform tents in the woods. Staff members live with and closely supervise campers throughout each session. Overnight Camp staff stay on camp grounds at all times. All meals are provided.
Summer Overnight Camp is open to boys and girls, ages 6 to 14. It includes the Farmstead program with baby farm animals and a garden, as well as a variety of exciting hands-on activities such as archery, canoeing, camp crafts, low-ropes course, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, the climbing wall, high ropes course, outdoor skills, performing arts, swimming, wildlife and environmental studies, theme days, campfires and s’mores!

Camper Arrival at 2 PM the first day of camp (Sunday); Departure at 11 AM on the last day (Friday).
Deposit: $50 per camper, applied to session fees

Food: Camp rules prohibit campers from bringing food to camp or receiving any food, including candy or gum. Should a camper bring or receive food items, such items will become the general property of the camp.
Health: A nurse looks after the health of the campers. Meals are planned by an experienced dietitian. Hiram House Camp has city water.
