Journey Program
The Journey Program at Doxa's Malmsbury site is a multi-day leadership focused expedition along the Goldfields Trail. The program is open to students in Years 7/8 and has equipment to accommodate up to 60 young people on simultaneous multi-day hikes. The hike itself crosses the Dry Diggings Heritage Trail which showcases old relics, mukluk heaps, mine shafts, eroded gullies and many more visual examples of the booming gold mining history from the 1850s. Students will be fully self-sufficient and carry all the necessary gear and materials to undertake the expedition. The focus of the Journey Program is to challenge the student’s resilience, foster teamwork, enhance leadership qualities, develop interpersonal skills and teach them about local and Indigenous heritage and sustainability through the interaction with the natural environment.

City Camp
The City Camp program has some great additions to the already engaging, fun and educational activities currently on offer. With a greater focus on providing campers a valuable insight to the inner city landscape, groups will this year participate in a classroom session with The Big Issue to better understand homelessness and marginalisation in Melbourne. We have also introduced an Urban Scrawl laneway tour to not only showcase some of Melbourne’s renowned street art, but to also facilitate discussions about graffiti awareness and the differences of each.Other activities added to the program include visiting The Melbourne Star, having fish and chips at the iconic St Kilda Beach and understanding the sustainability issues of living in Melbourne.
