ABOUT CAMP

OOutdoor Activities

Experience exciting outdoor adventures that will challenge you and your group to a new level.

It is important to give our girls opportunities to develop or improve their outdoor skills in different areas. Research has shown that integrating Environmental Education and outdoor activities into children’s daily lives received lower ratings for behavioral conduct disorders, anxiety, depression, and obesity than peers with less access to nature. Only through hands on outdoor activities can we truly advance our efforts to have the nation’s youth develop a lifetime of emotional awareness of the natural environment.

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois offers a variety of outdoor adventures including summer camp (day, community & resident camp), equestrian (horseback riding) challenge course & climbing wallboating and archery.

Girl Scouts is here to inspire you to roll up your sleeves, help your community, earn badges and awards, and enjoy Girl Scout Journeys, an exciting way to learn about leadership.

If you're ready to begin adventuring with Girl Scouts, begin by completing our Membership Interest Form.

Explore the various Girl Scout Pathways – ways girls and volunteers can participate that meet your needs and interests and fit your schedule and lifestyle.

Any girl in grades K-12 can become a Girl Scout by accepting the Girl Scout Promise and Law, paying the $15 annual membership dues, and following our safety guidelines. However, no girl will be denied membership in Girl Scouts for financial reasons. If your family is interested in financial assistance, there is help available.

We can't wait to see the positive changes you will enact as a Girl Scout, both in your community and in the world.

Girl Scouts invites every girl to discover her amazing potential.

If you're 5 to 17 years old, you can be part of the largest organization for girls on the planet. At Girl Scouts, you might explore the solar system, venture on a nature hike, become a weather watcher, write and star in a play, enjoy a scavenger hunt, or take an amazing trip.

And you'll do it with other girls and inspiring adults who just might become your friends forever.

From the minute you share the Girl Scout Promise and Law – words girls have been saying for over 100 years – you'll DiscoverConnect, and Take Action to:

  • Discover Yourself

  • Connect with Others

  • Take Action to Make the World Better

In addition to developing courage, confidence, and character, girls who join Girl Scouts make new friends, travel to new and exciting places, share adventures with other girls, and explore a vast array of things that interest them – from the arts and sciences to spending time in nature to making healthy choices for themselves and the planet. With the tools you'll learn in Girl Scouts, if you can think it, you can do it.

We’re excited to offer a variety of programming for March 2015 to September 2015! We believe Girl Scouting gives every girl access to life-changing experiences that inspire her to do something great while she’s learning to build her courage, confidence and character. She learns to trust herself so she can stretch her wings and do what’s new and challenging. She discovers she can take an adventure and learn new skills with the help of other Girl Scouts and dedicated volunteers. She makes friends, finds mentors and joins with others to improve her neighborhood or her school. She realizes she has the power to make change happen in ways she never even imagined.

Girls will discover fun, friendship and the power of girls who work together. Girls can go on adventures, learn a sport, sample the arts, team with new friends and volunteer for community service.
