Horse Riding - Experienced riders or novices, it doesn't matter because Mowbray Park has a large number of horses and ponies suitable for people of all ages and riding abilities.

Even if you've never ridden a  horse before, Mowbray Park's ride leaders will help you to discover the delights of a leisurely trail ride.

With the help of our experienced farmers, you can head out along the ridge across picturesque rolling hills exploring native bushland and wildlife, while taking in the magnificent views of the countryside.

A regular highlight is to join up with other guests around the campfire for an afternoon billy tea and damper.

Kids Club - Each weekend and during school holidays we run Kids Club sessions. This is where Mum & Dad can have a bit of a break while the kids have fun under supervision. During the morning session (11:00am - 12:30pm) we'll be outdoors with treasure hunts, painting, craft and games. At night (after Children's Dinner at 5:30pm) the kids will go upstairs to our Kids Club room to play games, do some craft and maybe watch a movie. This runs from 6:00 - 8:00pm, giving parents the opportunity to enjoy dinner together. Please note a minimum of 4 children is required to run a session.

Other Activities

Our other activities include Tennis, Swimming, Table Tennis, Canoeing, Archery, Boomerang throwing, Sheep shearing, Whip cracking, Farmyard activities including hayride and feeding the cattle, collecting eggs and milking the cows. We also have regular Bush Dances and campfires.

Accommodation

 Mowbray Park has a selection of classic Country Lodges dating from the 1870's to the 1930's. We have en-suite family  rooms in Barkers Lodge, the main Homestead or the colonial warmth of Majellan Lodge and its seven en-suited family rooms. The ten bedroom Cheddington Lodge and three bedroom Alverna Lodge are set up for self cater as well.
Each lodge has a lounge area with some of the creature comforts, tea & coffee facilities, microwave, fridge and if it's time to chill and watch a movie you can.

MAJELLAN LODGE

Seven family rooms with private en-suites (two with spa baths), A/C, large guest lounge with open fireplace and TV/DVD. Verandah's front and rear, access from the bedrooms.

ALVERNA LODGE

Ideal for multiple families or a group, this three bedroom lodge has a communal lounge with TV/DVD, fridge, A/C, and tea & coffee facilities (cooking facilities available for self cater groups).  All of the bedrooms have double beds. (sleeps 24)

CHEDDINGTON LODGE

Perfect for large family gatherings, tour groups, schools and retreat groups (sleeps 60). This lodge has ten bedrooms, 3 with en-suite, 8 showers and toilets. Large lounge area with TV/DVD and A/C. Kitchen equipped for self cater groups (minimum numbers required) with stove/oven, microwave, fridge & BBQ. Downstairs has a table tennis and some room for the kids to play.

BARKERS LODGE - The Main Homestead

Has 3 twin share or double rooms and 2 family rooms, each with en-suite. Lounge area has an open fire, billiard table and tea & coffee making facilities as well as TV/DVD. Barkers Lodge is a perfect adult retreat.

Horse Riding

For centuries Humans and Horses have enjoyed a remarkable relationship, our early dependance on these powerful, fast and capable animals progressed many human cultures.They expanded our agricultural development and productive output, little wonder that the horse's strength became the benchmark for 'horsepower'.

At Mowbray Park our horses enjoy a more leisurely life introducing many to the joy of a first ride or re-aquainting adults with  childhood dreams.

Our horses like nothing better than to head out on a trail ride, it's a life of purpose retracing their ancestral footsteps. 

If you have never heard of 'Natural Horsemanship' then you are in for a treat when you choose to ride Mowbray Park's horses. The sublime art of 'love, language & leadership' far exceeds the 'fear, force & intimidation' which has  been the life for some horses, but not here.You will ride your horse with a hackamore, the horse's friend, less pressure, wonderful response and a safer ride for you.
