If you’re attending the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup from Sunday 6th – Friday 11th December and need accommodation in Melbourne please consider Melbourne Discovery Groups for all your team needs. We offer:

We understand the needs of educational groups are very different to that of others and the services and facilities we offer you will ensure that your camp will be safe and hassle free. As part of our school camp accommodation we provide 24 hour reception, overnight security, swipe card access, CCTV, strict house rules and depending on the size and age of your group, exclusive use of a whole floor.

Our service isn’t just booking your school camp accommodation. Our Melbourne Program Coordinator can cater an experience to suit your needs whilst sticking to your budget constraints. Many of these items are free including our own Scavenger Hunt around the CBD, career planning tours to Universities or a trip to the NGV, State Library, Shrine or the fantastic Queen Victoria Market.

FACILITIES

BEDROOMS If you are looking for group accommodation in Melbourne, whether you’re a school camp, sporting group or a large social gathering, we have a range of budget accommodation options to choose from at Discovery Melbourne!  We have 4 share dorms, 6 – 8 share dorms and also 10 – 16 share dorms for those larger groups. For teachers or group leaders we have private rooms also available so you can have some peace and quite on your trip as well! All rooms have shared bathroom facilities, swipe card security access, heating and linen including.

BATHROOMS We have 4 levels of accommodation here at Discovery Melbourne, all with swipe card security access.  Every floor has set of male and female showers and a set of male and female toilets for your groups convenience.  We understand how important cleanliness is so our housekeeping team work hard around the clock to make sure they are nice and clean any time of the day or night!

ROOFTOP & BBQ AREA Sitting on top of Discovery Melbourne is one of the biggest rooftops in the city! It’s equipped with BBQ’s, picnic tables and sun lounges with enough space for your whole group to meet, chill out or get charged for the day ahead.

BAR For the older groups, you can relax in our basement bar, The Velvet Underground. Grab a drink after a long day in Melbourne with Happy Hour every night from 5pm – 10pm, followed by great drink specials all night!  Open Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to late. Check out what’s on in the bar.

CINEMA Our beanbag cinema is another great space for your group to meet or relax.  The cinema seats 50 people and can also be used for presentations or meetings.

DINING & FUNCTION SPACES We are a very large property so we have lots of spaces for your group to use and hire for events. Depending what floor you are on there are various dining areas and private group leader lounges. Group catering is generally done in our large conference room, The Franklin Room. We also have the rooftop, bar, café and cinema which can be booked by groups depending on size and availability. Head to the conference and events page for more details.

DISCOVERY CAFE Discovery Cafe serves up great coffee and food every day of the week including all day breakfast and some of the best pizza in town. We do our best to keep our prices low because we know your money is better spent on exploring Melbourne! While individuals in groups can head to the café anytime, all group meals do need to be pre-booked and paid through our catering department.

GUEST LAUNDRY Equipped with great quality washing machines, dryers and an ironing board and open 24 hours.
