ABOUT CAMP
On Site Activities
Some of the activities you can enjoy at Gumleaves include:
Fun park offering hours of fun for children and adults alike
Air walk leading to a flying fox that swoops down over a small lake
Mini golf consisting of nine holes
Take a refreshing dip, or take the row boat or canoe out at Lake Mulga
Adventure Playground full of exciting activities including flying foxes, cargo nets, tyre swings and giant see saws!
Visit the Deer Park. Deer can be viewed from any point around the park, but the best views can be obtained from the viewing platform at the feeding area. Speak to reception to find out when feeding time is and come along and help! Great fun for the whole family!
Bush walking – we have several marked bush walking tracks that will take you all over the property
A full sized tennis court
Challenge activities – excellent for team building
Enjoy campfires at night – cook marshmallows or damper
View the wildlife – spot birds, possums and wallabies
For those that just want to take the family away for the day, Gumleaves offers Family Day Passes. This day Pass allows access to our onsite activities and facilities – including barbecue sites, adventure playgrounds, mini golf, lake and tennis courts.
Family Day Passes are also available for purchase for guests in the camping and caravan parks. This Pass will allow access to all on site activities for your group or family – you will only need to purchase a single Day Pass to cover access for the duration of your stay.
Water Based Activities
Gumleaves has a handful of row boats and canoes as well as life jackets available for your use. For larger groups, or where you need students to have the same type of watercraft as each other, we would recommend bringing your own watercraft – there is vehicle access to the lake, and permanent jetties.
In the warmer months, for the braver students (and teachers), you may wish to go swimming in the lake. Please note that Gumleaves do not provide life guards, so it will be a requirement of your school for there to be supervision by someone with a Bronze Medallion.
Nearby Attractions
Alternatively you can use Gumleaves as a base from which day trips can be organised. Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park is just over an hour to the north, and the ferry to Maria Island National Park is just 20 minutes to the south. Visits to either of these National Parks will give your kids wonderful opportunities to learn about Tasmania’s past, to get physical and get back to nature. For more nearby attractions click here.
