This is a shortened camp week to help children have a wonderful first experience being away from home. We begin Sunday afternoon and are finished on Wednesday after brunch. There are five campers per counselor in a cabin, and you can request to be with a friend or get to know some new friends.
You will have a taste of what camp life and activities are like. The Craft Shack is full of unique crafts. You'll play fun field and wide games that you've probably never played before. Swimming in our indoor pool or soaking in the hot tub is always a big hit. And the Dance activity is absolutely a blast. You may also get to shoot hoops, play in the sand, or try a camper favourite - creek walking. Mmmm Alberta summer camp at its finest!
Activity Descriptions for Grade 2/3’s:
Horsemanship Program. Our experienced leaders and horses take you on a great learning adventure with two 1-hour sessions in the arena and on the camp trails. Our youngest groups spend their first ride in or outdoor arena learning very basic Horsemanship. Start and stop! We are fortunate to have some incredible animals that are very gentle with these little riders. Their second ride is a light trail ride with our experienced guides on foot keeping a close eye on the riders so they can quickly be beside a horse if the rider needs help.Extra Activities Program, designed for those who love our great onsite activities (crafts, sports, swimming, sling shots etc.) and who simply want to have extra time participating in these activities.

We've got an awesome opportunity for only the Grades 4/5's - you get to spend one day and one night of your camp week experiencing the "wilderness" at Tipi Village on Camp Caroline's property. You'll do a hebertism course out in the woods of Camp Caroline, help with setting up tents, building a fire, and cooking supper. After supper we'll review what you learned about team building, God, and creation throughout the day. Then the magnificent poplar forest - with lots of places to hide and run - is great for a fun-filled wide game. Before crawling into the tent with your cabin, enjoy a scrumptious snack and a Bible story under the stars. Mmmm Alberta summer camp at its finest!

Activity Descriptions for Junior High:
Our Activity programs add great excitement and experience that go beyond the Lodge activities. And for Junior Highs the programs really open up at Camp Caroline Day Trip programs that take you away from the Lodge for one of your days at Camp Caroline. Whitewater Rafting Program on the Red Deer River about an hour and a half southwest of Camp Caroline. Onsite Paintball Program including two 2 hr games played as part of an elimination round tournament. Climbing and Rappelling Program located in Nordegg AB where you play on a 90 foot cliff for the day. All these trips are lead by professionals that Camp Caroline has been working with for many years. Hiking day trip to see the sights from mountains an hour or so from Camp Caroline that rise 7500 - 8500 feet above sea level. Lake Canoe Program is a great way to spend a day away from the Lodge at a beautiful lake 20 minutes from Camp Caroline. Mountain Board Program - available during free time. Enjoy some great downhill fun on a snowboard with wheels along the wild trails of Camp Caroline. Level 1 Horsemanship Program is 4 hours of arena and trail riding spread throughout the week for beginner- intermediate riders. The first ride is spent in the outdoor arena learning skills needed for the trail ride and playing games. Riders are taught to ask their horse to go ahead, turn with a direct rein, back and most importantly stop. Also with these older riders we challenge them to learn the ways horses respond to pressure. As this is the root of horsemanship. Our main focus is to keep the ride as safe as possible. The next 3 rides are often on the trail where the riders use the skills they learned earlier to maintain control of their horse at a walk and jog. We play games like Simon says, rock on a post and egg and spoon then hand out prizes and certificates at the end of the week. Level 2 Horsemanship Program is focused on riders with more experience with horses. We begin the week the same as most reviewing the basic Horsemanship, and evaluating the level our riders are at to challenge them more to their ability. We attempt barrel racing, pole bending, jogging and possibly loping out on the trail. We also teach saddling brushing and basic horse care. Level 2 Horsemanship is a more intensive 6-hour Program. Overnight Trail Ride Program combines riding and camping overnight away from the Lodge. For riders who have some experience with horses. We review the basics for trail riding in the afternoon and then set out on the trail to the overnight location. The riders learn saddling brushing, feeding and watering their horse. After the trail ride to their overnight location the kids eat over the campfire, and sleep in tents. The evening is spent cuddling your horse and trying a little bareback riding. The next morning the riders head back to the corrals and enjoy the remainder of their week at camp.
