The Camp with The Song In It's Heart
Founded in 1953, by Jean Smith Davies and her husband Charles Davies, Betsey Cox remains a
family business. We celebrated our 60th summer this past season. We believe in the traditions,
activities and fun that make our camp unique and we are excited to share this special place
with your family.
Betsey Cox is a camp for young women growing up in the global world of the twenty-first
century. Each girl creates her own schedule each day with well-trained staff to offer guidance
when needed. Except for required swimming lessons, the program is fully elective. Campers
take responsibility for their own lives in ways which they may never have experienced before.
Each girl contributes to the work in the community by taking turns with all-camp jobs in the
cabin, dining hall, and the garden.
Betsey Cox provides a stable, long-term experience with a real sense of belonging. The people
and the sense of extended family draw us back to each other year after year. Our staff and
campers represent many countries, and they contribute multiple talents and perspectives on
growing up and living with others.
This community offers an opportunity for growth that is unique and of life-long value. Betsey
Cox is an important part of many lives, and I invite you to make it part of yours!

ACTIVITIES
At Betsey Cox, each girl designs her own daily schedule. There are a wide variety of opportunities, and the campers choose experiences that fulfill their individual interests.Each activity has my riadachievement skills that the girls may choose to master. They continually move to the next level of experience and expertise as they participate!
