营地简介与理念

ABOUT CAMP

在沃尔登营地，我们的五大理念是：诚信、尊重、信任、关怀与合作。在这理念之下，沃尔登营地的每一个人都友好互助，相互尊重，并且尽力做到最好，把理念也传递到我们的营员之间。每天，我们的营员都会进行五项活动课程，去尝试去学习任何自己感兴趣的东西。除此之外，营员还会参加到一项新奇的旅行、团队竞赛、更多的特殊项目与珍贵的传统。导师会鼓励营员去学习新技能，培养自我独立能力与自我认知。沃尔登努力地去营造快乐、有爱和新奇的环境，特殊的营地体验让沃尔登营地更加让人值得留恋。

At Camp Walden, we believe in the values on which the camp was founded and which are embodied in the camp’s Honor System: honesty, respect, trust, consideration, and cooperation. This guiding principle involves respecting and supporting each other and always trying our best. Each day campers participate in five activities where girls are scheduled to try everything. In addition campers participate in an extensive trip program, team sports (color war,) many special events and cherished traditions. Campers are encouraged to develop skills and competence while they cultivate a strong sense of self, independence, and integrity. Waldenites live for the fun, friendships, and new experiences that each summer brings. The entire experience is what makes Walden a special place. 

沃尔登是一个最贴心关怀8——15岁女生的夏令营地，每天夏天会有许多老营员再次返回到沃尔登，再次参加刺激好玩的、充满挑战性的宿营活动，包括野外旅行，骑马，网球，帆船和滑水等。将近一个世纪的时间，沃尔登已经成为这些女生成长经历中很重要的一部分，在沃尔登，锻炼她们的领导能力与自信心，帮助她们更好地去适应和融入社会。

Walden is a close-knit community of girls, ages  8——15. Campers return each summer for friendship, challenge and fun and participate in traditional overnight camp activities including wilderness trips, horseback riding, tennis, sailing and water skiing.For nearly a century, the Walden experience has been part of young girls’ lives as they acquire leadership skills and confidence to navigate their world.

在沃尔登，我们所有的活动都是为了孩子能快乐成长，结交好朋友和在夏季留下新经历，除了营地的一系列活动和特殊项目，我们还有许多一百多年前传承下来的珍贵传统，让沃尔登营更加独一无二，如：

 荣誉系统的核心价值——尊重，信任，思考，合作。孩子们要承担、对自己行为负责并学会思考自己真正的需求、想法与感受。

唱歌——在沃尔登营地将是一个歌曲盛会，进餐前、营会前、行走中……女孩子们无时无刻不在欢乐唱歌，还有更多的机会让营员去创作和表演自己的原创歌曲。

纪念册——一个年度的、传统的营地留言册，由两个年龄最大的组的营员去整理、修订，在每年夏天的最后阶段进行。营员在纪念册中相互留言，且纪念册会伴随营员一生，在长大之后孩子也乐于回顾这些留言。

领导力训练——当营员成长与经历能力足够之后，他们会当上营地的领队。12年级的女孩，作为年龄最大的孩子，会有很多次机会去负责团队的特殊项目。11年级的女生将会为来年去领导队伍做好准备。

 Waldenites live for the fun, friendships, and new experiences that summer brings. In addition to the activities and special events that occur at camp, there are many cherished traditions that make Walden a special place. Below are some of our most important traditions:

Honor System –The core values upon which Walden was founded: respect, trust, consideration, and cooperation. Campers learn to take responsibility for their actions and to consider the needs, thoughts, and feelings of others.

Singing –There is a lot of singing at Walden. Girls sing at mealtime, camp meeting, before bunk shows, while walking to activities anytime and anywhere. There are many opportunities for campers to write and perform original songs.

Splash – The camp yearbook, organized and edited by the two oldest age groups, is distributed at the end of the summer. Campers spend the last few days writing special notes to 

each other in Splash, and they enjoy reading it  throughout the school year.

Leadership – As campers grow and learn, they become the leaders at camp.  Girls in Bunk 12, the oldest age group, have many responsibilities for the special events of the summer. Girls in Bunk 11 assist Bunk 12, so they are prepared to lead camp the following summer.
